The Fountain Hills Community Foundation stands ready to respond when our community is in need.

This year’s annual grant process was well under way when the world was turned upside down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the 2020 grant applications had been received, analyzed and discussed, it quickly became clear to the Board that the rapidly changing circumstances required a change in focus.

How would the people of Fountain Hills be affected by the lockdown and where could we meet the greatest need?

Our thoughts went immediately to the Extended Hands Food Bank, our locally dedicated food bank for Fountain Hills. With so many people facing an uncertain future, rising jobless rates, and kids who are now home and constantly hungry, what better way to direct FHCF funds than to ensure that our local food bank can meet the needs of our residents.

A slight redistribution of funds allowed us to present the Extended Hands Food Bank with a $5,000 check to meet the increased demand they were facing, while still providing almost $30,000 to our other grant recipients. Being able to shift our focus not only helped the food bank be better prepared, but the local residents who would be most affected during these uncertain times.

It is our ability to annually pinpoint where our funds can be the most effective, along with our hands on approach to the needs of our community, that makes the Fountain Hills Community Foundation integral to the well-being of our residents and non-profits. We are honored to serve, and privileged to be trusted with your donations.
