Dear Valued Members,

As we look forward to 2024, the FHCF board members wanted to reach out to thank you for your support of the Fountain Hills Community Foundation (FHCF). It is thoughtful members like you who believe in supporting the small nonprofit groups in our community that make our world go round. We’re winding down our 28th year and what a wonderful year it’s been. Here’s a recap of what we’ve been up to:

  • We had the privilege of gifting over $50,000 to 26 local nonprofit groups in and around Fountain Hills at our Annual Gifting Day, March 30th at DC Grill. The leadership, resiliency and commitment of the volunteers who serve our recipient groups is always a source of inspiration. We are grateful to each of them for their selfless service.
  • We hosted the Flynn Society Members ($1,000+ membership level) at key events focusing on the good works of our Grant Recipients. On October 19th our Flynn Society visited Fountain Hills Youth Theater for the dress rehearsal of “Junie B’s Essential Survival Guide.” After the show, we had the opportunity to share dessert with the cast and crew. What a talented group of kids they were! Our thanks also go out to the leadership team at the Theater for sharing your talents with our younger generation! These events are such a wonderful way to learn more about the inner workings of organizations who support our youth, seniors and families.
  • Soon, you’ll begin to hear about Flutter at the Fountain 2024, a 3-day event April 12-14, to be held in Fountain Park. This year’s theme is Celebrating Our “Hometown Heroes,” honoring those individuals who are the backbone of our nonprofit community. Look for activities like a Rotary Chili Cook-off, an FHCF Donor and Sponsor Luncheon, Family Day, the Heroes Ball Gala on Saturday evening and on Sunday, Sami Fine Jewelry will host the 2024 Love in the Hills vow renewal ceremony. Of course, the centerpiece of the event will be the magnificent butterfly sculptures that our talented artists will soon present along with a 2024 limited edition of Roadrunner sculptures!
  • Financially, the Foundation grew in some very important ways during 2023. We received member contributions in the form of Donor Advised Funds, providing valuable tax advantages while guaranteeing future donations and building an enduring legacy for their families. Those funds have also grown through the Foundation’s investment options…a win-win for all!
  • In addition, some of our members also notified us of the establishment of Legacy Endowments, a future gift that will create a lasting, charitable gift within the community. We would be honored if you would keep the Fountain Hills Community Foundation in mind when making your estate planning directives. More information about this program is available at FountainhillsGives.com/fountain-hills-legacy-fund.

As we look to a new year, we invite you to continue to support the Community Foundation and the local nonprofit groups that make our community so amazing! Renewing your membership with the FHCF helps us continue to fund these dedicated groups and to support them by bringing recognition to their efforts and their volunteers.

We encourage you to consider our “Flynn Society” level membership of $1,000 per year, which can also be donated in monthly increments of $84 or more. The Flynn Society is named for our founder, Jim Flynn in honor of his commitment to Fountain Hills’ nonprofits. This group of donors participates in various informational tours and activities that bring us closer to the volunteers in our various recipient groups. Membership levels begin at $100. Sign up for the category that best suits your personal interests through the membership page on our secure website.

As a volunteer organization, we couldn’t continue to do this work without you and your support! On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, please accept our heartfelt wishes for a joyous holiday season and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024!
